The Institute for Labor Studies participated in the “First Stakeholder Consultation Workshop on the Updating of the National Climate Change Action Plan (NCCAP)” on 29-30 August 2018 in Dolcelatte, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.

The Climate Change Act of Republic Act No. 9729, signed in 2009, as amended, mandates the CCC to formulate and update the NCCAP which outlines the country’s agenda for adaptation and mitigation from 2011-2028 in accordance with the National Framework Strategy on Climate Change (NFSCC) through a collaborative and participatory process. Following the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities of the NCCAP from the 3rd quarter of 2017 to the 2nd quarter of 2018, there is now a need to update the NCCAP taking into account the results of the M&E for the period 2011-2016 as well as the developments in national, subnational, and sectoral priorities and planning frameworks/roadmaps.

Participants were asked to provide inputs to the NCCAP themes related to the following: Food Security, Water Sufficiency, Ecological and Environmental Stability, Human Security, Climate-smart Industries and Services, Sustainable Energy, Knowledge and Capacity Development.
