ILS meets with Malaysian researchers on PH platform work

The Institute for Labor Studies, joined by the DOLE-Bureau of Working Conditions and Bureau of Labor Employment, held a benchmarking meeting on platform work with the Malaysia Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) on January 26, 2023 at the Labor Governance Learning Center (LGLC) Training Room, DOLE Building in Intramuros Manila.

MIGHT was represented by Dr. Abdul Rahman, Ms. Farah Abu Balear and Ms. Safiyyah Mohd Salleh who discussed their study on building a regulatory framework and development for the sharing and gig economy in Malaysia. Their team, in turn, inquired into policies and programs pertaining to alternative employment arrangements in the Philippines.

Led by ILS Executive Director Jeanette T. Damo, ILS researchers presented studies on telecommuting and on the gig and platform economy. Mr. Ivan Cassidy F.
