Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) will be launching the first Gender and Decent Work policy rounds on September 1, from 8:00am – 1:00pm at the Cinematheque Centre, T.M. Kalaw Ave., Ermita, Manila.

The event titled, “SOGIE x Decent Work: Inspiring Action for Workplace Inclusion and Empowerment for LGBT Workers,” aims to be an innovative platform for policy discourse on gender-based issues and concerns on labor and employment. This will be hosted of the ILS’ Gender and Development (GAD) committee, in partnership with key players and tripartite stakeholders.

Speakers for the said forum include Sen. Risa Hontiveros, Commissioner Perci Cendaña of the National Youth Commission, Atty. Michael Ocampo, Court Attorney V of the Office of the Chief Justice, Supreme Court of the Philippines, Atty. Jazz Tamayo of Rainbow Rights Project, and Ms. Divya Sharma HR Leader of IBM Philippines. The event is part of ILS-GAD’s continuing efforts to deal with issues at work with individuals whose Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) do not fit into the norms of society.
