The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) hosted the 1st Inter–Agency Committee on Research and Statistical Matters (IAC-RSM) last 17 March 2017 at the Labor Governance and Learning Center (LGLC), DOLE Building, Intramuros, Manila.

Assistant Secretary Alex Avila presided over the discussion of the respective agency’s proposed researches for 2017–2021, which were identified during the 2016 IAC-RSM Strategic Planning.

The discussion centered on the clarifications and proposed improvements on the said proposals.

ILS, for its part, reported on the proposed fifteen researches for 2017.

Asec. Avila also presented the highlights of the Meeting of Experts in Geneva, Switzerland on the Decent Work Guidelines as a reference tool for DOLE to address labor-related challenges and opportunities for the sustainable development of the tourism sector in the country. Asec. Avila also reminded the members to update the list of bureaus and agencies following the reassignment of heads of the different offices.
