Manila - The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) is among the agencies under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) cited by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for its compliance and exceptional performance in surpassing its targets during the conduct of the "annual and semi-annual monitoring and review of agency performance" particularly on the utilization of government funds vis-à-vis its plans and targets for the fiscal year 2023.

In its report submitted to DOLE dated April 12, 2024, DBM commended the Institute for "exceeding its annual performance targets." DBM emphasized in its letter that the Institute "was able to register 87.85 percent and 90.03 percent of its obligation and disbursement rates, respectively." The report generated by DBM is with reference to the commitments and performance indicators as reflected in Volume II of the FY 2023 Appropriations Act.

The conduct of the semi-annual and annual monitoring of agency performance is pursuant to Book VI of Executive Order No. 292 (Administrative Code of 1987), as cited in Chapter 2 on Budget Policy and Approach (Section 9) and Chapter 6 on Budget Accountability (Sections 55 and 56).
