Manila - The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) researchers completed a three-day training about the “Basic Course on Descriptive and Inferential Statistics” on 16 to 18 April 2024 at the ILS Office, Intramuros, Manila.

The Institute invited WiTech (Youth for Women in Technology Inc.) experts Ms. Sarah Jane Fabito and Ms. Ivory Marie Guerra for a series of lectures and hands-on exercises on statistical analysis tools and data visualization.

In her opening remarks, Executive Director III Jeanette T. Damo emphasized how numerical data supports policy recommendations in research, promoting evidence-based policymaking. “Through this activity, we reaffirm our dedication to excellence– to further elevate the quality of our research outputs and to ensure that our policy recommendations are grounded in empirical insights,” Executive Director Damo added.

The three-day training concluded with interactive lectures and group presentations, and recommendations from WiTech on enhancing the Institute's research methods in preparation for the conduct of its research agenda for the fiscal year 2024.
