In compliance with DOLE AO No. 362-16 promoting Family Welfare Program within the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) constitutes its own ILS Welfare Program Committee (ILS WelPCom) through AO No. 90, s. 2016 issued by OIC-Executive Director Ma. Celeste M. Valderrama.

 

The ILS WelPCom is chaired by Exec. Dir. Valderrama with Administrative Officer Yumi L. Baluyut as Vice Chair, and with the ILS Division Chiefs Camilo Franco Cabusas, Miraluna Tacadao, Patrick Patriwirawan, Kim Paulina Pacete, Reinerio Alba as members, along with the ILS Employees Association (ILSEA) president. The ILS WelPCom members took their oath with the members of other FWP committees of the DOLE offices, bureaus and services, and attached agencies before outgoing Sec. Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz last June 23, 2016 at the Occupational Safety and Health Center in Diliman, Quezon City.

 

The DOLE Family Welfare Program (FWP) seeks to introduce the concept of promoting the welfare of workers and their families as a key to workplace productivity and improved worker-management relations. It is an advocacy program that draws corporate support in promoting workers’ quality of life by adopting a family centered approach in the workplace.

 

Foremost among the duties and responsibilities of the ILS WelPCom is to develop and make available the components of the welfare services of ILS WelPCom such as but not limited to the following program components:  a.Employees health services; b.Value formation and education activities; c.Economic and livelihood opportunities; d.Harmonizing work, family and social life.

 

The ILS WelPCom is also tasked to organize, plan and implement the ILS-FWP, submit annual plans every January and quarterly reports to HRDS, and conduct consultation with the rank-and-file employees to determine priority activities under the program components.
