PASIG CITY – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) conducted the third leg of data gathering activities for its ongoing research titled “Gender and Development (GAD) in Labor Organizations: Strategies and Prospects" on 13 May 2025 at the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) - NCR Pasig, Pateros, Mandaluyong, Marikina, San Juan (PAPAMAMARISAN) Field Office.
The study generally aims to analyze how labor organizations contribute to pursuing gender equality in the workplace thereby ensuring decent work for all.
Led by Senior Labor and Employment Officer Jan Danielle R. Bondad, along with team members Ms. Joyce Anne Lumactud, OIC-Division Chief of the Labor and Social Relations Research Division, Mr. Levie Mariano, Ms. Carla Mabalot, and ILS intern Ms. Mayen Medroso, the team conducted a series of data gathering activities supported by DOLE PAPAMAMARISAN Field Office Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Engr. Roberto M. Chavez, Jr., and Ms. Annabel A. Espinosa, Labor and Employment Officer.
As part of its fieldwork activities, the research team engaged with unionized employees and management representatives to gather crucial insights into the application of GAD concepts and the implementation of related programs within their companies through collaboration with labor organizations.
This study is one of eight (8) ongoing research projects of the Institute for Fiscal Year 2025 and will be presented at the DOLE Research Conference in October.
