Two division chiefs of the Institute for Labor Studies were among the participants to the “Managing for Results” training organized by the DOLE- Human Resource Development Service (HRDS) held on 23-25 May 2017 at the A-Venue Hotel, #7829 Makati Avenue, Makati City.

Patrick P. Patriwirawan Jr., OIC-Chief of the Labor and Social Relations Research Division and Reinerio A. Alba, OIC-Chief of the Advocacy and Publications Division were sent to the said training, which is in line with the Department’s thrust of strengthening the managerial skills of DOLE managers and future leaders.

The three-day training was designed to provide participants with the leadership tools and people skills to achieve target results. The training also capacitated participants to develop a balanced, adaptive and flexible management style, as well as to differentiate between supervising and managing.

The modules also covered the following: a) responding creatively to changing conditions in the workplace; b) delivering optimum results through effective planning, monitoring, and controlling; c) organizing people to maximize their knowledge, skills and creativity; d) taking charge by making timely decisions; e) sustaining peak performance and handling performance problems; and f) using the right leadership mindset and skills to deal with work and performance challenges.
