Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies celebrated its 35th founding Anniversary with a simple get-together lunch for its employees on July 25 at the BF Condominium Bldg. in Intramuros, Manila.

Holy mass was celebrated by Fr. William Garcia at 11 am followed by a short message from ILS Executive Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin Satumba thanking ILS employees.

The event was also graced by the presence of DOLE Senior Officials and heads of agencies led by Undersecretary Ciriaco A. Lagunzad III who came to celebrate with the Institute.

ILS was formally established in July 25, 1987 through Executive Order No. 251 in response to the growing need of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for more comprehensive and innovative research to back up its policy recommendations. Headed by an Executive Director and assisted by a Deputy Executive Director, ILS has been instrumental in the promotion of labor market efficiency, industrial peace and social justice in the last 35 years.
