The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) participates in the Decent Work Country Diagnostics (DWCD) Inception-cum-Capacity Building Workshop organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on 11-12 May 2016 at the Manila Pavilion Hotel.

The workshop aimed to introduce national stakeholders to the DWCD tool and identify key indicators and issues for inclusion in the DWCD. The ILO provided a briefing on Decent Work and the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development or the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as latest developments on international labor statistics.

The workshop introduced the background, concept and elements of the DWCD process including statistical decent work indicators, legal framework indicators and the proposed DWCD analytical framework to the national government agencies, workers and employers organizations.

Decent Work Diagnostics at the country level is designed to provide a well-informed and comprehensive but short diagnostic narrative of the growth, productive employment and decent work situation and trends of the country.
