Another batch of INTERNi graduates successfully completed their Internship Program from the Institute for Labor Studies in July 2017

The following interns for this semester are: Adrian Paul C. Catalogo, Rachel Hannah D. Lugtu, Gene Allen A. Rodriguez, and Billy D. Solano, Bachelor of Arts in Social Science-Area Studies from the University of the Philippines, Manila; Herschel Louise M. Barcelon, AB Political Science from the University of Santo Tomas; Cesar Clarence D. Contreras, Juris Doctor from Ateneo Law School; and Ezekiel John M. Evardo, Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

During their stay with the Institute, the new breed of INTERNi graduates competently and efficiently assisted in ILS’ staff during the conduct of the following events, such as Public Hearing of the Senate Committee of Government Corporations and Public Enterprises on Draft Substitute SSS Bill, Enterprise-led learning networks meeting with the Asian Development Bank, Research Ethics Sensitivity in the Conduct of Public Research involving Human Beings, Transforming Research for ILS’ Gender and Development (GAD) Committee, Meeting with On-Off Group for the conduct of Design Thinking Olympics, and preparation for the conduct of the Institute’s 30th Founding Anniversary.

They also provided research support and aid in crafting reports for ILS’s on-going studies such as Unemployment Insurance Schemes of selected countries in Asia, Typology of OFWs, and Review of Philippine Development Plan 2011-16 and 2017-22.

The ILS INTERNi Program is a program for students who want to pursue a career in public policy research and development work. At ILS, students are given the chance to participate in the various research projects, forums and advocacies.
