Manila – The Institute for Labor Studies (ILS) released a series of videos in its official facebook account (www.facebook.com/ilsdoleofficial) highlighting its key accomplishments to mark its 33rd founding anniversary.

Accompanied with the hashtag #ILSxxxiii, the first video posted in July 20, showed the greening initiatives of the Institute under 2011-2016 Green Our DOLE Program (GODP). For the said years, ILS was able to plant 3,400 seedlings in different areas: 500 guyabano trees in Sariaya, Quezon (2012); 2,000 mangroves in Iba, Zambales (2013); 400 bitaog trees in Palo, Leyte (2014); 400 pitogo trees in Baler, Aurora (2015); 100 sweet tamarind trees in Alaminos, Pangasinan (2016); 500 sweet tamarind, custard apple and bignay trees in Arayat, Pampanga (2017); 250 Baguio pines, African tulip and Ipil-ipil trees in Baguio City, Benguet (2018); and 300 mangroves in Sta. Ana, Cagayan (2019).

The second video showed the various presentations, speaking engagements, workshops, to training and scholarships, that were participated in by ILS researchers both locally and abroad, to promote labor policy researches and advocacies.

The third video highlighted the events that were spearheaded by ILS with DOLE tripartite partners and other stakeholders in 2019 as part of its commitment in enhancing labor policies focused on the Future of Work.

The fourth video was on the 2019 accomplishments of the Institute zeroing in on the 11 researches, with 80% of which being rated at least Satisfactory and with 70% of it used as inputs by its target clients.

The fifth video focused on the 2019 key activity of the Institute’s Gender and Development (GAD) Committee, in cooperation with the Workers Welfare Research Division (WWRD), which successfully conducted its very first community-based forum titled, “Komunidad at Kamalayan para sa Karapatan ng Kababaihan,” on March 23 at Barangay 658 Day Care Center, Intramuros, Manila.

On the day of the anniversary, July 25, and marked with a logo reiterating its tagline of “Bridging Research Policy and Practice, the Institute offered its humble salute to all the frontliners at this time of the COVID19 pandemic, from the medical staff, to the daily wage earners, to the self-employed, and to fellow civil servants who continue to persevere offering their services to help the country in these trying times.
